Informations & recommendations
Design:
Our Tool is made from 3 parts: Beech wood handle, brushed aluminium cap and Tungsten carbide blade
Handle:
The handle is turned by hand from Beech wood to assure its durability and great shape to mach any hand. It sits nicely in your palm so you can grip it tightly for the best trimming result.
Blade:
Blade is made from tungsten carbide which is one of the hardest metals. It doesn’t wear and dull like steel does and can be used without sharpening for a long time. It is sharpened to an angle so it cuts through clay swimmingly. This tool shape is perfect for precised trimming of small pots and removing clay from inside of foot.
Caution:
Blade is made from material which is very hard and durable, so it stays sharp for a long time and you are not able to bend it in your fingers. Due to this fact it is brittle and may shatter like porcelain if it falls on the floor. Please be cautious while working with it and always watch over it so it doesn’t roll of the table by accident. Don’t bump it against steel or other tools too. Don’t soak it in the water, after use quickly wash and wipe it to dry. Store the tool in the box provided by me or keep it in one lined with foam.
Sharpening:
Tool is extremely sharp and durable, but after months of regular use it can slightly dull. To maintain it’s high trimming performance if needed, use fine (400 grid or finer ) diamond file or if you don’t have one simply good sandpaper. File inner part as outer is beveled and doesn’t need sharpening.
